Description of service

PetCareMath provides educational tools and analysis related to pet financial planning, including:

  • Interactive calculators for pet insurance evaluation, lifetime cost projection, and emergency fund planning

  • Methodology documentation and research findings

The Site is funded primarily through display advertising. We do not sell insurance, broker policies, or earn commission on insurance sales. We may, from time to time, include affiliate links to non-insurance products (such as savings account products or veterinary financing services), with clear disclosure when present.

Nothing on this Site constitutes veterinary, financial, insurance, or legal advice. Our calculators and analysis are educational tools designed to help you think about decisions, not to make those decisions for you.

  • We are not veterinarians. Information about pet health conditions, treatment costs, and medical procedures is drawn from published sources and is intended for general educational purposes. Consult a licensed veterinarian for any specific medical questions about your pet.
  • We are not licensed financial advisors. Our calculators produce analytical estimates based on average data. They do not constitute personalized financial advice. Consult a qualified financial advisor for personalized planning.

Calculator outputs

Our calculators use industry-average data, breed-specific health probabilities, and assumed parameters to produce estimates. These estimates are inherently approximate. Actual costs for your specific pet may differ substantially from our calculated estimates, in either direction.

We update calculator data quarterly based on the latest available industry data, but pet insurance pricing, veterinary costs, and treatment availability change continuously. Outputs reflect data current as of the most recent quarterly update, which is noted on each calculator page.

Calculator outputs are not predictions. Your specific pet may experience health events that our averages do not capture, or may avoid health events that averages suggest are likely. Insurance is fundamentally about managing variance, and individual variance in either direction is normal and expected.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our calculator logic for commercial competitive purposes
  • Scrape the Site systematically using automated tools (legitimate research scraping is welcome — contact us)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to non-public areas of the Site or its underlying infrastructure
  • Republish substantial portions of our content without permission and proper attribution
  • Use Site content to train commercial AI models without explicit written permission
  • Misrepresent the source of Site content or claim our analysis as your own

Intellectual property

Site content — including written analysis, calculator code, dataset schemas, design elements, and methodology — is owned by PetCareMath and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Advertising

The presence of an advertisement on the Site does not constitute our endorsement of the advertised product or service. We have no control over which specific advertisements appear on which pages. We do not negotiate ad placement with advertisers, and advertisers cannot purchase favorable editorial coverage.

If you see an advertisement that is misleading, fraudulent, or inappropriate, please contact us with the URL and ad details. We can remove specific ads from our inventory through Google AdSense’s ad review tools.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PETCARECALC AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Decisions made based on calculator outputs that turn out unfavorably
  • Veterinary expenses not anticipated by our analysis
  • Insurance claims denied based on policy terms we did not specifically address
  • Lost profits, lost data, or business interruption
  • Any damages arising from third-party content or links

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed $100, even if we have been advised of the possibility of greater damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so this provision may not apply to you in full.

Indemnification
