The short version

We don’t collect personal data. Our calculators run entirely in your browser — your inputs (breed, age, region) never leave your device. We use privacy-friendly analytics that don’t track individuals. We don’t have email signup forms, lead generation forms, or quote forms. We display ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve relevant advertising. That’s the entire scope of data handling on this site.

Information we collect

Information we do NOT collect

  • Your name, email, phone number, or address (we don’t have signup forms beyond a general contact email)
  • Your dog’s specific information — calculator inputs (breed, age, region) are processed in your browser and never sent to our servers
  • Payment information — we don’t sell anything
  • Account credentials — we don’t have user accounts

Information collected automatically

  • Anonymous analytics data. We use privacy-friendly web analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics or similar) to understand which pages are popular and which calculators are most used. This is aggregate data — no individual tracking, no cookies, no IP address logging.
  • Server logs. Standard web server logs (timestamp, URL accessed, anonymized IP, referring page, browser type) are retained for 30 days for security and operational purposes.

Information collected by third parties

We display advertising on this site through Google AdSense and may use other ad networks in the future. These services use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. Specifically:

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

  • No first-party cookies for analytics or tracking. Our analytics implementation is cookieless.
  • Third-party advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and any future ad networks. These are used for ad personalization, frequency capping, and performance measurement.

You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling third-party cookies may result in seeing less relevant advertising but will not affect site functionality. Our calculators, content, and tools all work fully without cookies.

How we use information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Understand which content and calculators are useful so we can improve them
  • Maintain site security and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use information collected on this site to:

  • Build profiles of individual readers
  • Sell or rent data to third parties
  • Send marketing communications (we have no email list)
  • Train AI models on reader behavior

How we share information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • With service providers who help operate the site (web hosting, analytics, ad networks). These providers are bound by confidentiality requirements.
  • If legally required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation. We would challenge requests we believe to be improper.
  • In aggregate for research and reporting — never anything that identifies an individual user.

  • You can use this site fully without providing any personal information
  • You can browse with cookies disabled
  • You can use ad-blocking extensions (we’d prefer you don’t, since ads fund this site, but we respect your choice)

For European Union residents (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you (in practice, we hold essentially none)
  • Request deletion of any personal data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • File a complaint with your data protection authority

To exercise these rights, contact us. Because we collect minimal personal data, most requests will be quick to resolve.

For California residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise CCPA rights, contact us.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

Server logs: 30 days. Aggregate analytics data: indefinite, but contains no personal identifiers. Email correspondence: retained while needed to address your inquiry, then deleted.

Security

We use HTTPS for all site traffic. Our hosting infrastructure (Vercel/Cloudflare) provides industry-standard security including DDoS protection and TLS encryption. Because we collect almost no personal data, the impact of any potential security incident is inherently limited.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve or as required by law. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. The current version was last updated in April 2026.
